“The Clown” is a three-image portrait series that explores the psychological deterioration caused by vice and self-destruction. Through a sequence of increasingly distorted and unsettling portraits, the series captures a clown slowly losing their sanity, revealing the emotional collapse hidden beneath performance and appearance. Each image builds on the last, using expression, styling, and atmosphere to reflect the character’s unraveling mental state.
For this project, I directed the entire shoot, styled and painted the model, and completed all post-production editing in Photoshop. The series combines cinematic portraiture with conceptual storytelling to create a visual narrative centered on identity, addiction, and emotional decay.
