La Catrina (Lady Death)

This shoot features my model portraying La Catrina, or Lady Death, as a representation of beauty within death and the coexistence of elegance and mortality. Inspired by the traditional iconography of La Catrina, the images balance darkness and grace through dramatic lighting, makeup, and composition. The contrast between shadow and illumination symbolizes the boundary between life and death, with half of the model’s face fading into darkness while the other remains visible in light.

For this project, I styled the model, created the makeup look, directed the shoot, and completed the visual effects in Photoshop to achieve the final surreal and cinematic effect.
