Quote - Etta James

For this piece, I designed a typographic composition featuring a quote by Etta James: “Even if a song has been done a thousand times, you can still bring something of your own to it.” I emphasized the words song, you, can, and own to create an additional layer of meaning that reinforces the message at first glance, highlighting individuality and creative ownership.

To visually connect the design to music, I incorporated thin hairline elements beneath the text to mimic musical staff lines, and used musical notes as quotation marks. These details integrate the structure of written language with the visual language of music, reinforcing the relationship between the quote’s meaning and its form.
